"Health becomes an increasing concern as we get older, so I hope many of our customers will benefit from the support that RedArc’s nurses provide, should they need it."
- Ian Cooper, Commercial & Partnerships Director at SunLife

According to RedArc, the most common health conditions amongst those over the age of 50 that they currently support are cancer (80% of those seeking cancer support are aged over 50), mental health, and orthopaedic issues. Additional reasons for requesting support include bereavement, cardiac and neurological issues, as well as stroke, Alzheimer’s, and dementia. It’s also common to receive requests for support from carers.

Through this partnership, new customers purchasing SunLife’s Guaranteed Over 50s plan will have access to a dedicated nurse who’ll provide one-on-one support until the policyholder feels it’s no longer required. RedArc nurses will also equip policyholders with research and resources regarding their diagnosis, supply books and medical equipment, offer practical advice, arrange counselling, therapies or second opinions, as well as provide a supportive listening ear.

These services extend to policyholders’ partners and children living at the same address.

“We’re delighted to be chosen by SunLife to provide our nurse-led support to their customers and families. We have many years of experience in supporting people over 50, and we know that this age group is much more likely to have serious health conditions. The benefit of having a one-on-one relationship with a dedicated nurse to support individuals and their families at times of serious ill-health shouldn’t be underestimated,” said Christine Husbands, Commercial Director at RedArc.

Ian Cooper, Commercial & Partnerships Director at SunLife, added: “Health becomes an increasing concern as we get older, so I hope many of our customers will benefit from the support that RedArc’s nurses provide, should they need it. The experience, registered nurses at RedArc can provide free, professional, and compassionate support – both for policyholders and their families.

“Support is available for any significant physical or mental illness, even if it hasn’t been diagnosed. You have contact with the same nurse throughout, and they will tailor their support to your needs.”
