Holloway Friendly and Wiltshire Friendly have announced the completion of their transfer of engagements.

This means that Wiltshire Friendly is now a part of Holloway Friendly, bringing together two societies that trace their roots back to George Holloway’s ideas on friendly societies in the 19th century.

The merger proposal between the two mutuals was announced in April of this year. Holloway Friendly says the combined entity creates a more resilient mutual, with the transfer reflecting a shared purpose and enabling greater operational efficiency and sustainability.

Wiltshire Friendly’s members will transfer to Holloway Friendly with no changes to their policies or insurance, and they are not required to do anything as a result of the transfer.

"This merger is a significant moment for both organisations," Ben Pears, CEO at Holloway Friendly, said. "Wiltshire Friendly and Holloway Friendly share values, heritage and an absolute commitment to doing right by our members. Bringing these societies together creates a stronger, more sustainable mutual that’s better equipped to serve members for years to come."
