Source Insurance has announced its new platform update, designed to cut the time it takes to complete a home insurance quote by half.

The update is based on adviser feedback and enables users to reach the insurer panel in as little as 35 seconds.

Source reports that the number of declaration questions has been reduced by more than 50% (from 27 to 13), core questions considered ‘unnecessary’ have been removed, pre-price sections have been merged into a single step, and auto-population has been increased to reduce manual input.

Advisers now need to complete just one step before accessing the panel, and contact details have been moved to the end of the journey, so advisers can start quotes instantly without early-stage data entry.

"This update is all about respecting advisers’ time and making the quoting journey as seamless as possible," Gavin Judd, head of business development, Source Insurance, said.

He added: "By removing unnecessary steps and acting directly on feedback, we’ve created a faster, more intuitive experience that helps advisers reach prices quicker and focus on delivering the best outcomes for their clients."

Chris Lynch, IT director, Source Insurance, commented: "We’ve analysed thousands of broker and consumer journeys and worked closely with our insurer partners to deliver these enhancements. This fantastic result comes from our commitment to continuous improvement across our technology stack and focusing on the things that really make our platform work: speed, ease of use, and flexibility.

"I’m looking forward to seeing how these changes work for brokers and starting the next phase of development."
